Kulang Fort in Kalsubai Mountain Range offers the longest and highest climb from the base to the top amongst any other fort in the Sahayadris.
Standing at the height of 4822 ft, it also boasts about one of the finest views from the top and is graded as a medium / difficult trek.
Kulang is the last mountain of the Kalsubai range. The cloud flow here is magical. It literally flows from the one side of mountain towards the other side. The clouds climb up in the valley and then flow like a waterfall Aka cloudfall. The most beautiful Sunrise also makes it a sunrise destination.
Day 1: Saturday, 3rd June 17
Meeting Point Kasara Railway Station at 01:20 am (Check Travel Help tab for recommended Train Time Table)
Travel till base village by local jeeps till 4/5 am.
Start trek by 7,
Climb the fort till 3 pm and explore it till 6 pm
Dinner; Stay in the rock cut caves.
Day 2: Sunday, 4th June 17
Watch the sunrise, explore d remaining fort, breakfast; start descending by 09:00 am.
Reach Base village by 01:30 pm
Reach Kasara by 5 pm approx.
