Harishchandragad

Harishchandragad is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar region of India. Its history is linked with that of Malshej Ghat, and it has played a major role in guarding the surrounding region. The height of the fort is 4671 ft MSL.

 

Konkankada
One of the biggest cliffs of the sahyadris known as Konkankada, fascinates many people from years together. Facing towards the Konkan side, the cliff looks down upon the Konkan with a breathtaking view of the surrounding region. Not only vertical, but it has an overhang, almost like a cobra’s hood.

 

The Konkankada, a unique formation in the Sahyadris, is really tough and a challenge for the trekkers. This is a semicircular cliff of about 2,000 ft straight drop + 1000 ft slant fall in the Konkan plains. The surrounding grandeur and beauty of the plains and the mountains leaves us totally spellbound. It is one of the highest direct fall cliffs to be found in Maharashtra and Western Ghats.

 

 

Rappelling at Konkankada

This 3000 ft vertical fall also offers a thrilling chance of Rappelling. One can do 1800 ft rappelling at Konkankada followed by 4 hrs trek till the base village.

 

This is a combination of thrill and bliss that every true adventurer would say ‘YES!!!’ to… Rappelling, also known as abseiling is an act of descending a mountain face by sliding down a rope, which is attached to a body harness and fastened to an overhead projection, with sufficient friction provided as to make the speed of the descend controllable.

Day 0: Wednesday, 25th Jan 17

Start with 10:50 pm Kasara Semi Fast Local from your respective station.
Check the travel help section of the plan for time table of recommended train.

Day 1: Thursday, 26th Jan 17

Meeting Point : 26th Jan 2017 Kasara Station @ 1:30 am
Reach Base Village Pachnai by Local Jeeps
Night Trek till Konkankada
Have Breakfast
Night trek to harishchandra gad, Rest till dawn,
Wake upp call at 05:00 am, Refresh & Breakfast
The First participant will start rappelling at 06:00 am sharp followed by rest.
After finishing rappelling, reach Belpada,
Lunch will be served at 1:30 pm for first half of participants.
Those who will be reaching by night, will be served packed Lunch & Dinner.
Travel to Kalyan by Jeep as per your arrival at Belpada village.

Camera, Cap, Sunscreen Lotion etc. (Optional)

Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.

Good trekking shoes, extra pair of socks

Personal care and Medicine those if u require usually.

A haversack to put in all the things to be carried….so that one has ones hands free while trekking.(Please do not carry sling bags or Jholas.)

Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.

It is advised to board the second last compartment of the train from your respective stations so that we can meet in the compartment itself.
